Richard Lewis
Richard practices in the areas of tax, estate, and succession planning for ultra-high net worth individuals, based both in the United States, and abroad. In addition to his private client’s practice, Richard represents individuals and business in commercial and corporate transactions, intellectual property, and commercial and business litigation. Prior to forming MHR Lewis, Richard was a partner in a boutique international law firm focusing his practice in the areas of business and commercial law, as well as international trust and wealth planning, and prior to that he spent 10 years at a mid-size general practice law firm in Stamford, CT. Following law school, Richard clerked for the Honorable Antoinette Dupont at the Connecticut Appellate Court. Richard’s clients include companies and individuals based throughout the United States, Central and South America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
Richard received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998 and a Master’s from the University of Chicago in 1999. Richard graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2004. He is admitted to the bars of Connecticut, New York, and Wyoming, and he is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Connecticut, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York. Richard has been selected to Super Lawyers every year since 2019 in the area of international law.
